I would like to comment on the weather or just to say that I have been trying to contact La Repubblica for the last 2 weeks to ask politely when and how we will know how they use the donations for the reconstruction of the School in Monterosso - without any kind of reply. Shame on it.
But I expect that I should comment on the new Italian Government because... that's what everybody has been doing these days. Sometimes you have to adapt.
Let's first of all admit that some change was needed. So let's welcome the change.
Unfortunately, the political forces in Parliament haven't changed at all. It's still PD, PDL, Northern League and so on and so forth. More than that, the people making up those political forces are still the same as 10years ago. It's still Berlusconi, Bersani, Di Pietro, Bossi (I have lost track of Pannella but I am sure he is out there too). More than that, we are the same. We want miracles to happen and miracles, by definition, are "extraordinary events manifesting divine intervention in human affairs". So we wait some days, some weeks, maybe 3 months (the infamous 100 days: what has this Government accomplished in 100days?) and then we start complaining, muttering "it was better when it was worse", and so on and so forth until we get to new elections without giving the time to the new Government to even understand what they are dealing with. Which is in non political terms... a total mess.
Not even a Government led by Batman with Superman at the Foreign Office, Spiderman as Minister of Finance and Economy, Hulk for the Infrastructures and Catwoman as Minister for Equal Opportunities could do much in 100 days, given the overall situation. What has been done in 20, 30, 40 years cannot be undone in 100 days.
The formula cannot be "salabadula, magicabula, bididi bodidi bu": that's Cinderella and it's a cartoon, folks. But maybe a little of patience in the caldron could help.
